HDBaseT ™ Alliance was initiated and formed in 2010 by LG Electronics, Samsung Electronics, Sony Pictures Entertainment and Valens Semiconductor Corporation aims to promote HDBaseT ™ technology and standardization in order to use uncompressed HD multimedia content for family and commercial communication systems. HDBaseT ™ can be achieved in a single cable replacement for home entertainment and business environment in the plurality of sets of cables and connectors.

HDBaseT ™ core technology is 5Play ™, which is a set of features via a single cable covering uncompressed full HD digital video / audio, 100BaseT Ethernet, power supply cable and various control signals.

HDBaseT ™ are optimized specifically for video applications, it can consolidate all entertainment devices within a specific range by 5Play as a single entity. Functions include: uncompressed full HD digital video / audio, 100BaseT Ethernet, power supply and cables from a variety of control signals.
